Airfest Update

The Blue Angels are awesome! Today was their practice session for the "real deal" tomorrow. These men can fly! My ears are still ringing and my chest feels tight from the thrust of the engines. You can see more pictures here.

Airfest!

After spending 4 days on the river looking for a Hmong family that unfortunately died in the Mississippi River, today (and the rest of the weekend) I have the opportunity to be a part of the water patrol for La Crosse's Airfest. Today was exciting as I was right next to the Blue Angels. I can't wait to see the entire show on the river!

Paid in Full!

Today was a big day for Messiah Lutheran. We gave the final payment to St. Martin's Lutheran Church (Winona) for our land loan. Now the attention of the congregation needs to focus again on building the Kingdom of Christ. Messiah's mission statement reminds us that we are to be about building disciples! "Messiah Lutheran seeks to grow in Christ and to reach out that all may know Him as Savior and Lord of their lives." As we focus on Christ's work and Kingdom, perhaps the Lord will bless us with a building too.

Bunny Wars

My wife has been observing the rabbit vs. dog war that is being waged in our back yard. You can catch up in her blog, Faith-Filled.com. I have now decided to enter the battle. If the rabbits can call in reinforcements so can our dog, Luther.

I figure that the perfect Mother's Day gift for Stephenie this year is a garden that produces vegetables instead of more rabbits...

The trap was set and in place at 14:00 5/8/07. We'll see how long it takes.

Herod's Tomb

While I rejoice in the archaeological finds of people who are spoken of in Scripture, we must remember that faith in Christ is based on those things not seen.

Hebrews 11:1 "Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen."

How has this archaeological find strengthened or weakened your faith? Are there other scientific finds that have affected your beliefs?
