Internet Ministry Opportunities

This evening (yes Friday night) I was working on my church bulletin. Having high-speed internet, I was also online at the same time. Within two hours I received two separate Instant Messages via yahoo of single men who were lonely. Were they hitting on me? I hope not! If so, the conversations quickly changed to Christ and his love.

Both of these men discussed the despair and out-of-control addictions that are in their lives. What an opportunity! I listened (or more accurately read) their comments and tried to direct them to the King of peace, Jesus Christ. On the second IM, we concluded with a prayer! I wish I would have done that on the first.

There are so many people in this world who are lonely, depressed, looking, etc. Perhaps I need to be online, working on the church bulletin on Friday night, more often. Perhaps the church at large needs to find ways of ministering better online.

Pray for these men. Pray also that, as Christians, we can find ways to reach out and help these people who are despairing!

Patience Pays Profit - Researchers Report Alternative Stem-Cell Source in Amniotic Fluid - Science News | Current Articles

It's amazing how opponents of using aborted human stem cells receive so much grief when there are alternatives that do not cost a human life. Why do we have to be in such a rush when it causes more death and destruction than the original problem?

Being a Christian, I believe that God provides all that we need. I also believe that God has given us our minds and science to develop life-saving cures (without crossing the line of causing more death).

This alternative stem-cell source is an example of these truths. Once again patience pays profit. The researchers have the stem-cells and the human fetus gets to keep his or her life!

On a side note, I've been looking for this news on other sites and for some reason it appears to be missing. Interesting! Why is this news not being reported?

New Years Resolution Already Complete

My wife, Stephenie, has set a resolution to begin a web site featuring her as a Christian author, one of her life's ambitions.

Well it's January 1, 2007 and she has the beginnings of a page started. Check it out.

May God bless her endeavor!
